WIN FOR WILDLIFE! $10 MILLION FOR WILDLIFE CROSSINGS IN WYOMING!

It’s  official – voters in Teton County, Wyoming have overwhelmingly (79%!)  supported a $10 million measure for wildlife crossings!  It’s official – voters in Teton County, Wyoming have (overwhelmingly) supported a $10 million measure in support of wildlife crossings! GYC has worked tirelessly for over a decade advocating for wildlife crossings, most recently teaming up with our local partners to pass this funding initiative that will make highways safer for families and protect our iconic wildlife.

This is the first Specific Purpose Excise Tax (SPET) measure in Teton County dedicated specifically to wildlife conservation and we are certain this vote will pay dividends into the future in terms of public safety, wildlife conservation, and maintaining a healthy local economy.

GYC teamed up with our partners at the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance to form a Political Action Committee (PAC) and saw overwhelming support from local and national organizations who helped fund the initiative. Former County Commissioner Barbara Allen chaired the committee across the finish line. Thank you to all the organizations, individuals, and volunteers who supported the PAC and were instrumental in getting this measure passed! Thank you to the Teton County Commissioners and Jackson Town Council for realizing the importance of this issue and placing wildlife crossings on the ballot. And thank you to all the voters in Teton County for making your voices heard loud and clear – we support wildlife crossings!

GYC will continue our work on wildlife crossings and the next phase, putting this money into crossings on-the-ground, but today we celebrate this success with you, our supporters. We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress.
