Henrys Fork Wildlife Alliance Hosts Screening Of New Wildlife Film

Island Park, Idaho –  On Saturday, August 19, Henrys Fork Wildlife Alliance hosted only the second public screening, of the new wildlife film “On Grizzly Ground,” by filmmaker Kris Millgate of Tight Line Media.

Nearly two hundred people packed the conference center at Springhill Suites by Marriott at Mack’s Inn in Island Park. Donors and volunteers enjoyed a VIP reception in the hotel lobby with appetizers from Cafe Sabor, while Kris Millgate, the filmmaker, autographed her three books. Prior to the film, Millgate gave a lively presentation about the production of the film, sharing stories of her pursuit of grizzlies for the project. After the film, she answered questions from the audience and then engaged with audience members as she signed more books.

Millgate was warmly received by the audience. She is an outdoor journalist and CEO of Tight Line Media. She spent ten years in TV news before starting Tight Line Media in 2006, starting at KIFI News 8. She has filmed throughout eastern Idaho and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and she’s spent a lot of time working here in Island Park including producing a short film

about HFWA. She is the author of three books. Millgate is a leading member of Outdoor Writers Association of America, a life member of Trout Unlimited, and a certified Idaho Master Naturalist.

Millgate is currently reporting for the PBS show “This American Land”, the magazine Field & Stream, and East Idaho Outdoors. Her salmon film, Ocean to Idaho, was nominated for two Emmys and toured with the Wild & Scenic Film Festival in 2022.
