Who We Are

The Henry’s Fork Wildlife Alliance (HFWA) is a group of people committed to protecting healthy wildlife populations in the Henry’s Fork Watershed. We love the outdoors and support all forms of recreation.

In the summer of 2019 we formed the Henry’s Fork Wildlife Alliance to provide a unified voice for local citizens who treasure our native wildlife. We are a grassroots, all-volunteer organization governed by a volunteer board of directors.  We are residents and taxpayers of Southeast Idaho. We volunteer our time, support our local businesses and charities, and are your neighbors. Like you, we care deeply about the wild heritage surrounding our communities and believe in responsible land stewardship while respecting Idaho’s strong recreation and land-use traditions. We believe that when wildlife thrives, so do Idahoans.

Justin and Alison Brown

Directors

Justin and Alison Brown moved to Island Park in 2024. They both hold masters degrees in wildlife biology. Alison has taught high school and middle school science and has conducted wildlife research on animals including foxes, raccoons, coyotes, and Canada Geese. Justin has 20 years of experience as a wildlife biologist. He has worked extensively with large animals including deer, coyotes, bobcats, cougars, and black bears, and on smaller species including raccoons, Canada geese, and other waterfowl. Much of his work has been focused on human impacts on wildlife. They have worked in several states and travelled through much of the west. Both of them love to hike, backpack, hunt big game, and cross-country ski in Island Park and Greater Yellowstone.

Jenna Crapo

Conservation and Communications Coordinator

Jenna grew up in St. Anthony, graduated from South Fremont High, and holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She has done research and made presentations on a rare plant in the St. Anthony Sand Dunes,

and has worked eradicating invasive plants, as well as serving as a bear keeper at Yellowstone Bear World. Jenna helps her husband with family-owned farm land here in Southeast Idaho. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.

Jenna will be managing HFWA’s social media, communications, and annual

Wildlife Festival. She will also be in charge of an upcoming invasive week mapping project. Jenna’s work will contribute greatly to community-driven programs dedicated to wildlife conservation. Email Jenna directly at jenna@henrysforkwildlifealliance.org.

Sarah Cubells

Communications Coordinator

Sarah lives in Driggs and is an honors graduate of the University of Connecticut with degrees in biology and animal science and experience in conservation work. Sarah worked as an undergraduate researcher at both the Uni

versity of Connecticut and Emory University in Georgia, as well as a teaching assistant and an outdoors adventure trip leader and instructor. She has participated in volunteer work providing veterinary care to exotic animals in Honduras, and spent time studying biodiversity in Patagonia, Chile.

In her spare time she continues to take advantage of outdoor sports & recreation opportunities in Idaho. She is passionate about skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and backpacking.

As Communications Coordinator, Sarah provides HFWA with administrative support, and communicates with HFWA members.
